Music Therapy (B.A.)
Overview
The Music Therapy program at SRH University is designed for students who are passionate about music and working with people. The program focuses on the practical training of therapeutic and musical skills, with a theoretical basis in medicine, psychology, neuroscience, and musicology.
Study Content
The program covers a wide range of topics, including:
- Theoretical foundations: psychology, medicine, neuroscience, therapeutic sciences, musicology
- Therapy: music therapeutic approaches, active music therapy methods, receptive methods, talk therapy techniques
- Music: piano and/or guitar, percussion, voice
- Practice: two study-integrated internships, cooperation in the campus ambulance, group self-experience, and group supervision

Graduates of the Music Therapy program can work in various fields, including:
- Psychiatric clinics, psychosomatic and psychotherapeutic clinics, facilities for mentally and/or physically disabled persons
- Neurological specialist clinics, geriatric institutions, retirement homes
- Music schools, secondary schools, kindergartens
- Oncology departments and aftercare facilities, pain and palliative care centers
- Institutions of vocational rehabilitation, psychosocial counseling centers, own practice

The program consists of 7 semesters, with a total of 210 ECTS. The modules include:
- Basics of therapeutic music-making practice
- Scientific work in the healthcare system
- Psychology and psychotherapy
- Basic instrumental techniques
- Basic therapeutic attitudes and techniques
- Active and receptive music therapy
- Clinical project phase (P I)
- Field of application psychiatry, psychotherapy/psychosomatics
- Field of application: neurology
- Core musical skills - focus on improvisation
- Digital media in music therapy
- Music therapy in geriatrics
- Music therapy with children and adolescents
- Musical application skills
- Music therapy with people with disabilities

Tuition Fees
The tuition fees for the Music Therapy program are:
- EU/EEA nationality including Switzerland, Western Balkans, and Ukraine: € 590/month
- Non-EU/EEA nationality: € 4,140/semester
