Overview
The Undergraduate Certificate in Cyber Security is a comprehensive course for people who are keen to start a degree in cybersecurity. In this course, you will learn about the key principles and concepts of cybersecurity in various professional and academic settings, critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills specific to cybersecurity challenges, technology to communicate intricate cybersecurity concepts to diverse audiences, global perspectives in cybersecurity, aligning with international standards, respect for and integrating Indigenous values, cultures, and knowledge in cybersecurity practices, and collaborating in teams, working independently, and fostering lifelong learning.
Upon completing this course, you’ll have the essential skills that are valued in today’s technology-driven world, and you’ll be well-prepared for diverse roles in the cybersecurity and computing sectors. This undergraduate certificate also offers a pathway (with credit points for units completed) into Curtin's Bachelor of Computing majoring in Cyber Security and other courses.

Admission criteria
What you need in order to get into this course. There are different pathway options depending on your level of work and education experience.
You’re considered someone with work and life experience if:
You have left secondary education more than two years ago (i.e., who are not classified as recent secondary education applicants) and have not undertaken vocational education training (VET) or higher education study since then.
You’re considered someone who studied at TAFE or have done an apprenticeship if:
Applicants with vocational education and training (VET) study are those whose highest level of study since leaving secondary education is a VET course. This includes study at a public TAFE or other VET provider, whether a qualification was completed or not. Applicants with VET study may have other qualifications such as a Year 10 or Year 12 secondary school certificate.

Commonwealth supported
What is a Commonwealth supported place (CSP)?
A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government. They pay part of the course fees directly to Curtin and then the student pays the remainder (referred to as the “student contribution amount”). The student can defer this fee to their HECS-HELP loan.
All Australian students studying an undergraduate degree are automatically awarded a Commonwealth supported place. A limited number of Commonwealth supported places are also available for some postgraduate courses.
