Geotechnical Engineering Specialisation

Overview

The Geotechnical Engineering Specialisation is an extension specialisation that provides expanded knowledge in construction and analysis techniques useful for geotechnical and transportation projects. Key concepts covered are applied geotechnical engineering in the areas of ground analysis, stabilisation and improvement techniques; construction methodologies; transportation network design; and road pavement design and construction.

What You'll Learn

• Demonstrate a conceptual understanding of fundamental science, mathematics, data analytics, information science, sustainability principles and/or computing, GC1
• Solve geotechnical engineering problems of industrial and societal significance via innovative and creative design or research, working individually or in teams, GC2
• Select and use current and emerging technologies to develop and communicate effective and innovative engineering solutions to complex problems, GC3

Course Essentials

• Qualification: Geotechnical Engineering Specialisation
• Credit: A full-time study load usually consists of 200 credits (approximately eight units) per year, with 100 credits (approximately four units) in each semester.
