Water, Air and Waste Management Specialisation

Overview

This specialisation would suit chemical engineering students who are interested in the design, commercialisation, and use of processes and products that minimise pollution, promote sustainability, manage CO2 emissions, and protect human health and environment without sacrificing economic viability and efficiency. Students will have the opportunity to get a deep and detailed look at the treatment and management of air, water and wastewater, solid and hazardous materials. Students will learn the design problems associated with storage, collection, processing, treatment, disposal and recovery of these wastes.

What You'll Learn

• Demonstrate a conceptual understanding of fundamental science, mathematics, data analytics, information science, sustainability principles and/or computing, GC1
• Solve chemical engineering problems of industrial and societal significance via innovative and creative design or research, working individually or in teams, GC2
• Select and use current and emerging technologies to develop and communicate effective and innovative chemical engineering solutions to complex problems, GC3
