Undergraduate Certificate in Urban and Regional Planning

Overview

The Undergraduate Certificate in Urban and Regional Planning provides an introduction to skills and knowledge required by planning practitioners and may enable entry (and credit for the four units completed) into the Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning at Curtin.


What you'll learn

  • Apply principles and concepts of Urban and Regional Planning in a variety of contexts relevant to further learning and/or paraprofessional work
  • Apply critical and creative thinking and problem-solving skills relevant to Urban and Regional Planning to generate innovative solutions to problems
  • Use technology appropriately to communicate Urban and Regional Planning concepts to experts and non-experts
  • Consider global perspectives on Design and international Urban and Regional Planning and Regional Planning standards
  • Demonstrate respect for Indigenous values, cultures, and knowledges and consider Indigenous perspectives on Urban and Regional Planning
  • Work professionally in teams and independently, and demonstrate life-long learning skills

Course Essentials

  • Qualification: Undergraduate Certificate in Urban and Regional Planning
  • Duration: 1 year part-time study. Students can commence in either semester.
  • Credit: A full-time study load usually consists of 200 credits (approximately eight units) per year, with 100 credits (approximately four units) in each semester.
  • Location: Curtin Perth

Fees and Scholarships

  • Australian and New Zealand student indicative fees: $4,700* (Commonwealth supported)
  • What is a Commonwealth supported place (CSP)?: A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government. They pay part of the course fees directly to Curtin and then the student pays the remainder (referred to as the “student contribution amount”).
  • Fees are indicative first year only and are subject to passage of legislation.
