The Rowan Experience
Our Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program provides registered nurses (RNs) with the skills to assume leadership roles in their respective organizations. The nurse practitioner (NP) concentration prepares RNs to sit for the concentration certification exam. The certifying agency determines eligibility for the exam.
The Nurse Executive concentration is created for the nurse executive to manage biomedical and information technology advances, health care reform legislation, escalating costs with diminished reimbursement for services, and a workforce of multiple generations operating in tandem with health care organizations. The essential skill set for nurses leading teams involves innovation and creative approaches that will assist them with the achievement of stability and consistently in an unpredictable environment.
Curriculum
Our Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program is offered in a hybrid format with a combination of fully online courses, face to face classes, and clinical experiences. At the completion of the MSN program, the graduate will have completed clinical hours as determined by the accrediting body in the area of the Nurse Practitioner track.
All applicants to the Master of Science in Nursing program will complete seven core graduate level courses. Admission to the concentration will only occur after application review by the coordinator. Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all Master of Science in Nursing core courses in order to be considered by the Department of Nursing to move into the Nurse Practitioner Concentration Track.
