We'll build on your previous business foundation course or HND, and you can study for either one or two years to get your BA in business administration. About your course

Alongside building effective business skills you will develop your knowledge of organisations, their functions, structure and management. You will study international business and how it functions in different cultures and learn how stakeholders and partners engage in an international context. You'll learn how to interpret business reports, evaluate performance and build knowledge of management tools and techniques. You will also select optional modules to tailor your studies to your interests. You will learn how to work effectively in teams, and how to present and communicate business administration ideas with confidence in a global marketplace. We will also support you to put together your career development plan so that you can work towards your goals effectively.


Year 1

Global Business Strategy (30 credits) - Compulsory

This module aims to provide you with the knowledge and understanding of key theoretical frameworks and practical applications in international business, international business strategy and cross-cultural management. You will learn concepts, theories and analytical techniques relevant to management, strategy and internationalisation. The module will equip you with problem solving and analytical skills to explore and analyse issues typically faced by organisations operating internationally.


International Business Finance (30 credits) - Compulsory

This module will provide you with the knowledge of equity and debt financing, exchange rate theories and determinants, as well as the skills of using spot and forward rates to identify and manage exchange rate risks in global environments. It blends theory, real data analysis, real-world examples, and practical case situations to equip students with analytical tools they need to make informed financial decisions and manage the risk that businesses face in today’s competitive global environment.


Global Brands and Cross-Cultural Marketing (30 credits) - Compulsory

This module aims to develop your knowledge on cross cultural and ethical theory to equip you with critical thinking skills. One of the central features of modern management is an emphasis on organisational justice, fairness, ethics and social responsibility combined with an awareness that how people lead and manage may vary across cultures. The module will enhance students’ understanding of the complex business environment and global business acumen.


Applied International Project (30 credits) - Compulsory

This module is designed to provide you with practical experience in applying business concepts, theories, and skills to real-world international business contexts. You will work individually on a project to identify, analyse, and propose solutions to a specific business problem. Through hands-on experience, you will develop critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills essential for success in international business administration.


Teaching and learning

Teaching

You will gain knowledge and understanding through online or on-campus lectures and seminars/workshops or a combination of both, depending on your mode of study. Lectures, seminars, workshops, case studies, real-world examples, professional talks and training on researching information and presentation skills would be offered to help deliver the program’s learning materials. Guided reading of textbooks, journals and course notes would also be provided to help with the learning.


Timetable

Whether you are studying full or part-time – your course timetable will balance your study commitments on campus with time for work, life commitments and independent study.


Teaching vs independent learning

Outside of teaching hours, you’ll learn independently through self-study which will involve reading articles and books, working on projects, undertaking research, and preparing for assessments including coursework, presentations and exams.

Coursework

There are no exams but your coursework including online objective tests, individual reports, group presentations and written assignments will be assessed.

UK entry

This is a one-year full time Top-up programme.


Admission to level 6 (1-year top-up) requires an HND (or equivalent qualification) in Business or equivalent subject with a merit profile with 120 credits (60 ECTS) at level 4 and 120 credits (60 ECTS) at level 5, including at least 120 credits (60 ECTS) specialising in business.


At least 15 credits (7.5 ECTS) must be passed in each of the following business subjects: Finance/Accounting/Economics, Marketing, Human Resource Management/Organisational Behaviour, Operations/Information Management/Management, Business Environment/Strategy, instead of 120 UCAS points.

The fees below are for the 2025/26 academic year:


UK students

Full-time: £9,535*


Part-time: £79 per taught credit


*Depending on the duration of your study, your tuition fees for subsequent academic years may be subject to further inflationary increases (most recently, the UK government has suggested that increases may be linked to the All-Items Retail Prices Index – RPIX) in line with any additional rise in the tuition fee cap set by the UK government. Any annual increase in tuition fees will be notified to students at the earliest opportunity in advance of the academic year to which any applicable inflationary rise may apply.


International students

Full-time students: £16,600


Part-time students: £138 per taught credit
