Program Overview
Postgraduate Certificate in Team Coaching
Overview
Team coaching is becoming an increasingly popular discipline, and many experienced coaches are returning to study new theories and models so they can add team coaching to their coaching practice.
This series of workshops will develop your confidence and skills as a team coach. It will deepen your understanding and ability to intervene with teams and groups and therefore increase the impact on your organisational clients.
Programme Overview
During this programme, you will gain a sound understanding of the roles and challenges of being a team coach. You will also integrate theory on group dynamics and team coaching into your practice. Over the course of the module you will deepen your awareness and insight into group process and team development.
You will learn to recognise and appreciate derailment and under performance in teams, be aware of the impact and meaning of various forms of 'group think' and 'scapegoating'; and you will find ways to respond to and contain such 'dark side dynamics' in teams. Finally you will develop your ability to make judgments about when and how to intervene in a team.
This is a flexible programme suitable for those who are beginning their coaching journey, as well as more experienced coaches wishing to expand their practice. It is a stand-alone course with optional accreditation process, after which you can progress to the Masters in Executive Coaching (Team Coaching Stream).
