UK Immigration Law and Advice Practice (OISC/IAA Levels 1–3)

Overview

Our UK Immigration Law and Advice Practice (OISC/IAA Levels 1–3) course equips individuals with the knowledge, skills, and ethical understanding required to become qualified immigration advisers under the standards of the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC) and the Immigration Advice Accreditation (IAA) system. This course prepares students for the official OISC/IAA competence assessments, leading to professional practice in the regulated immigration advice sector.


Entry Requirements

Applicants must:


  • Be aged 18 years or older.
  • Hold a minimum Level 3 qualification or demonstrate equivalent professional experience.
  • Show strong English language proficiency.
  • Maintain a clean criminal record, as required for future OISC/IAA registration.

Experienced professionals and career changers are welcome to apply.


Demonstrating Proficiency in English

Applicants must demonstrate sufficient English skills to accurately draft immigration applications, advise clients, and meet OISC/IAA professional standards.


Minimum Test Scores Required

  • IELTS Academic: 6.0 overall (with no band lower than 5.5)
  • TOEFL iBT: 78
  • Pearson PTE Academic: 50
  • GCSE English: Grade C/4 or higher

Applicants with degrees taught in English may be exempt from testing.


Equivalences

We accept:


  • UK Level 3 or above qualifications.
  • Recognized international equivalents (validated by UK ENIC).
  • Substantial experience in immigration advice, legal services, or casework (subject to assessment).

Qualification Structure

This course follows the OISC/IAA regulatory framework and is delivered across three levels:


  • Level 1: Basic immigration advice for straightforward applications.
  • Level 2: Complex casework including human rights and asylum matters.
  • Level 3: Tribunal representation and advanced advocacy in immigration appeals.

Students can enrol per level or complete the full program from Levels 1 to 3.

Progressions

Graduates can:
