What is Creative Digital Media?
This cutting-edge course is designed for prospective digital creatives who want to develop their creativity and express it through various digital media. The program covers a wide range of topics, including graphic design, web design, photography, audio engineering, video production, filmmaking, interactive design, UX, 3D modeling, and virtual reality.
Work Placement
There is an optional 12-week work placement in Year 3, Semester 2, which provides students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the industry.
IT Requirements
Students are required to have a high-spec laptop that can run Windows 10, an AV solution, and Office comfortably. They should also be able to use Wi-Fi and a camera to attend online classes and use other hardware-intensive software.
Special Notes
- Students in Creative Digital Media may choose a device running Windows or OSX (Apple) operating system.
- Apple devices are available from the HEANET store.
- Students are advised to purchase an annual subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud (all apps).

- Minimum Grade in Maths: O6/H7/F2 or higher
- Minimum Grade in English OR Irish: O6/H7
QQI/FET Requirements
- QQI/FET Award Required: Any full Level 5 or 6 award
- Additional Requirements: A distinction in 3 modules
Mature Applicants
Applications from mature students (23+) are welcome.
English Language Requirements
- If English is not the first language, students will need to provide evidence of their English language proficiency as detailed on the university's website.
- Applicants for this course should have a minimum IELTS (Academic Version) English Proficiency of 6.0 overall (or equivalent).
