Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Fine Art
Course Description
The BA in Fine Art is designed for students who wish to work as cultural producers in the Fine Art sector. The course is focused primarily on acquiring the knowledge and skills that are needed to operate as a visual artist in a competitive environment, nationally and internationally.
Course Objectives
- Develop skills acquisition, creative intelligence, and conceptual and critical thinking abilities.
- Integrate modules in Critical Theory and Professional Practice.
- Realise ideas and gain an articulate, critical, and informed understanding of contemporary Fine Art, its evolution, contexts, and critical discourses.

- Higher: 2 H5's
- Other Grade Requirements: Submission of Portfolio
QQI/FET Requirements
- QQI/FET Award Required: Any Level 5 or 6 award
- Additional Requirements: 5 DISTINCTIONS and PORTFOLIO
- QQI quotas and QQI points apply. The max QQI points awarded is 390.
