What is Mechanical Engineering?
Mechanical engineering is all about using Science, Maths and Technology to find better ways of making mechanical and electro-mechanical things work, such as designing electric vehicles to reduce pollution, designing enabling devices for people with a disability or improving the design of a wind turbine.
Professional Accreditation
The course is accredited by Engineers Ireland and graduates can become members of Engineers Ireland. Following further studies and work experience, you may apply to become a Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.).
Minimum Entry Requirements
Advanced Entry to year two following successful completion of TU805 Engineering (General Entry) Year 1.
Mature Applicants
Applications from mature students (23+) are welcome.
English Language Requirements
If English is not your first language you will need to provide evidence of your English language proficiency as detailed on our website. Applicants for this course should have a minimum IELTS (Academic Version) English Proficiency of 6 overall (or equivalent) with nothing less than 6 in each component.
