What is Accounting?
This course is aimed at non-accounting graduates who wish to pursue a career as professional accountants. Holders of the award receive significant examination exemptions from the main professional accountancy bodies operating in Ireland and will be well-prepared for the latter stages of their programmes.

Minimum Entry Requirements
Applicants should hold an honours bachelor degree (minimum of 2.2 honours or better) in a discipline other than accounting. Due to competition for places on the programme, firm offers will be made to candidates on an 2.1 or higher and offers will be made to 2.2 graduates should there be places available.
If English is not your first language, you will need to provide evidence of your English language proficiency as detailed on our website. Applicants for this course should have a minimum IELTS (Academic Version) English Proficiency of 6.5 overall (or equivalent) with nothing less than 6 in each component.
Career Opportunities
Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting can obtain exemptions from all CA Proficiency 1 (CAP1) examinations of Chartered Accountants Ireland (CAI), and exemptions from all Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills examinations of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) (subject to performance in specific modules on the course).
