The MSc in Computing Masters Qualifier offers graduates in non-computing disciplines the opportunity to acquire the core knowledge of computing concepts necessary to be eligible for entry to the MSc in Computing programme in the School of Computing.

Programme Description
The philosophy behind the qualifier is that graduates from other disciplines will have developed significant transferable skills in analysis, communications, and independent learning and so will be in a position to learn a focused subset of computing knowledge quickly.
Graduates of the Masters Qualifier exit with a Continuing Professional Development Diploma in Fundamentals of Computing and those who pass all modules and achieve an overall average mark of 60% can progress directly to the MSc in Computing programme.
Minimum Entry Requirements
- An Honours Bachelors degree (Level 8) in a non-computer science discipline.
- Applicants with other qualifications and relevant experience may also be considered for entry as exceptional cases.
- If English is not your first language, you will need to provide evidence of your English language proficiency as detailed on our website.
- A minimum IELTS (Academic Version) English Proficiency of 6.5 overall (or equivalent) with nothing less than 6 in each component.

Schedule
This is a full-time course that runs during semester 2 of the academic year. Classes will be held on Monday to Friday between February and May with exams in May. This programme is available in both online/remote delivery and in-classroom delivery. Applicants can choose which mode of delivery they would prefer when making their application.
Those who successfully complete the course will be eligible to start the MSc in Computer Science the following September.
