Minimum Entry Requirements
There are international bridging programmes for undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD preparation. The IELTS entry requirement is 0.5 of a band less than the direct entry requirement. This is overall 6 for most programmes. Upon successful completion of the programme you are guaranteed a place on your destination programme of choice. No further IELTS is required.
Course Content
You will study the following modules:
- English for Academic Writing & Reading
- Communicative Competence in English
- Introduction to Higher Education/Research Skills
You will learn how to:
- Work successfully in groups
- Study and research independently
- Communicate effectively with fellow students and lecturing staff
- Write academic essays and reports
- Give presentations
- Manage your study and leisure time
- Work more effectively using information technology
- Understand and apply basic concepts of your chosen discipline
Assessment
You will be assessed regularly throughout the programme through continuous assessment and homework assignments. This is used to monitor your progress throughout the programme. You will also be required to complete a number of final assessments for each of your modules.
Attendance and Participation
Attendance and participation in all classes are compulsory and necessary for success. Also, due to immigration rules, we are required to keep attendance records for all students.
Progression
Upon successful completion of the programme you are guaranteed a place on your destination programme of choice. No further IELTS is required.
