What is Hospitality Management Studies?
This course provides opportunities for individuals who wish to pursue a career in management in the hospitality industry. It is aimed at complementing the practical experience gained by individuals working in the industry, with an academic focus in college.
Minimum Entry Requirements
- Leaving Certificate or equivalent with Ordinary Level Maths.
- Currently employed or have gained substantial experience (at least 1 year) in the hospitality industry.
- Mature students (over 23) who do not meet the minimum educational requirements may apply and can gain entry to the course based on their relevant industry experience. This can be assessed through interview.
English Language Requirements
- A minimum IELTS (Academic Version) English Proficiency of 6 overall (or equivalent) with nothing less than 5.5 in each component.
Career Opportunities
This course provides graduates with the necessary education and skills to effectively manage and supervise diverse hospitality operations. Graduates have the opportunity to gain employment in many hospitality operations such as Hotels, Restaurants, Bars, Cruise ships, Corporate catering and industrial catering operations.

Graduates may continue their education either part-time or full-time through applying to gain entry into the final year of TU150 Bachelor of Arts in Hospitality Management.

Examinations will be a combination of continuous assessment and terminal examinations.
