What is Quantity Surveying & Construction Economics?
Quantity Surveying is a discipline based on the application of economics and financial evaluation techniques to land and buildings. The skills require a broad knowledge of a wide range of subjects together with a fundamental understanding of the economic, physical and legal framework within which buildings are used and how the construction market operates.
Professional Accreditation
The course is fully accredited by the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland.
Minimum Entry Requirements
- Irish Leaving Certificate with passes in six subjects, with a minimum of 2 at H5 to include Mathematics (O6/H7) and either Irish or English (O6/H7)
- Applicants in possession of a FETAC level 5 qualification in a related construction or engineering discipline
- A mature student who is 23 years of age or older on the 1st January in the calendar year of proposed entry to an undergraduate course
Advanced Entry
Advanced applications to latter years of the course will be considered for those applicants who already possess experience in the industry and/or possess a construction related undergraduate qualifications. Consideration for the particular year of entry will depend on the level of the course qualification attained by the applicant.

To qualify for Advanced Entry applicants must be currently studying, completing, or have successfully completed, studies at Level 6, 7 or 8 in a Higher Education Institution (HEI) or an equivalent, in a related area. You must demonstrate by providing transcripts of results that you have achieved the learning outcomes for each stage you wish to advance past.
