Bachelor’s in Sport Management Degree

Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Sport Management degree program at the University of Bridgeport prepares students for exciting careers in the management and administration of sporting events and teams. The program develops a deep understanding of the financial, legal, and ethical realities of sports management.


Concentrations

  • eSports Concentration: This track prepares students for a career in eSports administration and management at the scholastic, collegiate, and professional levels. Students learn effective broadcasting strategies and explore contemporary issues facing eSports and professional gaming.
  • eSports Minor: A 15-credit minor that provides practical knowledge and experience for a career in eSports administration and management. The minor covers video gaming technology, financial, legal, and ethical practices within eSports, and broadcasting strategies.
  • Sport Marketing Concentration: This track prepares students for a rewarding and dynamic career marketing sporting events and teams. Students have access to internship opportunities in the University’s athletics departments to advance their experience working with athletes.

Career Readiness

In addition to core classes, students develop skills in collaboration, communication, creativity, time management, and problem-solving while taking courses in humanities, mathematics, and the natural and social sciences. These soft skills are critical to a successful career in all areas of sport management.
