Diploma of Advanced Studies in Marketing for Luxury Tourism

Overview

This diploma program is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the luxury tourism marketing industry. The program is taught at the Marbella campus and consists of 7 modules, including Marketing Concepts, Experiential Marketing, Luxury Fashion and Lifestyle Trends, Customer Relationship Management in Luxury, Agile Digital Marketing for Luxury Business, Sustainable Luxury and Ethics, and Strategic Data Analytics for Decision Making.


Academic Structure

The program is divided into two semesters. The first semester consists of the 7 modules, while the second semester offers a choice between a professional internship or an Applied Research Project.

  • Marketing Concepts
    • This course explores marketing as a strategic business function by explaining how companies analyze and use marketing information.
    • You’ll look at marketing components such as segmentation, targeting, positioning, designing, pricing, and promoting.
  • Experiential Marketing
    • Experiential marketing is about engaging customers through all five senses and embracing individuals as highly perceptive human beings.
    • In this course, you will learn how every product and service needs to be engaging in experiential marketing.
  • Luxury Fashion and Lifestyle Trends
    • This course provides insights into fashion, covering both its historic development and its contemporary challenges and opportunities.
    • Topics also include production and distribution; plus cultural and other demographic influences that influence fashion marketing.
  • Customer Relationship Management in Luxury
    • This course will teach you what you need to operate a customer relationship management (CRM) system successfully, covering areas such as data analysis, customer retention, customer lifetime value, customer lifecycle, customer journey, and CRM architecture.
  • Agile Digital Marketing for Luxury Business
    • This course teaches you how to use digital technology as a marketing tool to create value to customers.
    • You’ll discover how to create a target buyer persona and how to obtain reliable data from different sources in order to establish an omnichannel business.
  • Sustainable Luxury and Ethics
    • As well as providing an overview of key innovative and sustainable trends in the luxury hospitality sector, this course also features a practical component that will test your ability to analyze, develop, and recommend strategic CSR in a luxury organization.
  • Strategic Data Analytics for Decision Making
    • Develop the skills required to understand and interpret quantitative data.
    • You’ll look at disciplines such as statistical terminology and techniques, inferential statistics and probability theory, while also examining how quantitative data analytics impact managerial judgments.

Final Semester: Internship or Applied Research Project

At the end of your taught semester, you can choose between a professional internship or Applied Research Project to earn your diploma.


  • Internship
    • Your six-month professional internship will place you directly into a hospitality setting, enabling you to put to the test what you learned in the previous semester.
    • This is our recommended option if you did not have significant hospitality industry experience before joining the program.
  • Applied Research Project
    • Working with a partner company, you will tackle a real-world business challenge, drawing upon the skills and knowledge you learned in class.
    • This is our recommended option if you already accrued hospitality experience before joining the program.
