AUR50216 Diploma of Automotive Technology

Course Description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who diagnose, analyse, evaluate, design and modify vehicle systems in the automotive retail, service and repair industry.

Course Structure

AUR50216 Diploma of Automotive Technology consists of twelve (12) units of competency, comprising 1 core unit and 11 elective units, in accordance with the packaging rules.

• AURETA002 | Analyse and evaluate electrical and electronic faults in body management systems
• AURETB002 | Analyse and evaluate electrical and electronic faults in dynamic control management systems
• AURAFA006 | Conduct research and present technical reports
• AURAMA005 | Manage complex customer issues in an automotive workplace
• AURETE001 | Analyse and evaluate electrical and electronic faults in engine management systems
• AURLTB002 | Analyse and evaluate faults in light vehicle braking systems
• AURLTD007 | Analyse and evaluate faults in light vehicle steering and suspension systems
• AURLTE003 | Analyse and evaluate faults in light vehicle engine and fuel systems
• AURLTQ003 | Analyse and evaluate faults in light vehicle transmission and driveline systems
• AURTNA001 | Estimate and quote automotive vehicle or machinery modifications

Entry Requirements

• Must have completed an automotive mechanical Certificate IV qualification, or be able to demonstrate equivalent competency.
• International Students:
  • Must be 18 years of age or above at the time of enrolment
  • Year 12 or equivalent of Australian HSC
• English Language Entry Requirements:
  • IELTS score 6.0 (with no bands less than 5.5) or equivalent Pearson Test of English (PTE)

Exit Point/Award

• Students that successfully complete all 12 units of competency as stated in the Course Structure will be issued with AUR50216 Diploma of Automotive Technology.
• Students that complete some but not all of the units of competency as stated in the Course Structure may be issued with a Statement of Attainment. It will identify only those units of competence that have been completed as part of the qualification and recognised nationally under the AQF.
