Overview

Develop advanced practice nursing skills with a certificate specialization in pediatric health within the primary care settings. Designed for nurse practitioners who already hold a graduate degree in nursing with certification in an existing APRN population focus and who seek a second area of specialization in pediatric healthcare.

• Fall: NURS 6125: Health Promotion in Primary Care: Pediatric (3 cr)
• Spring: NURS 6410: Primary Care I: Common and Acute Conditions in Pediatrics (3 credits)
• Summer: NURS 7410: Primary Care II: Chronic Health Challenges in Pediatrics (3 credits)
• Summer: NURS 6435 Primary Care Clinical I: Pediatrics (1 credit)

Year Two

• Fall: NURS 7810: Primary Care III: Chronic and Complex Conditions in Pediatrics (3 credits)
• Fall: NURS 7415: Primary Care Clinical II: Pediatrics (3 credits)
• Spring: NURS 7815: Primary Care Clinical III: Pediatrics (3 credits)
• Summer: NURS 8035: Primary Care Clinical IV: Pediatrics (2 credits)

Important Notes

• 9 credits of clinical = 810 hours. We can accept precepted clinical hours from a previous APRN program towards PNP certificate through our Gap Analysis Process. Work with the PNP option coordinator to complete this process upon admission.
• Due to state-level regulations, we are unable to enroll students who will be residing in any of these states while enrolled in this program: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New York, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Canada.
