Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT)

Overview

The Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) degree offers a comprehensive learning experience and is designed to equip individuals with the foundational knowledge, practical skills and analytical capabilities necessary to excel in the ever-evolving field of information technology.


The program’s curriculum blends theoretical concepts and hands-on experience to ensure that graduates are well-prepared to tackle real-world challenges and make significant contributions to the IT industry. The BIT offers streams in Cyber Security, Data Science & AI, and Digital Transformation, enabling students to delve deeper into their areas of interest. The degree comprises 24 units delivered over 9 terms, culminating in one of three streams, and students can choose one stream.

Rules for Intermission or Leave of Absence

DOMESTIC STUDENTS

A student may apply for intermission from their enrolment in a course:


  • on up to two separate occasions during their current course enrolment; and
  • for a maximum period of one year each
  • only after a student has completed at least one unit in their current course
  • the course in which they are seeking intermission must be available for admission

The intermission request must be approved or accepted by the Sydney Institute of Higher Education.


Rules for Withdrawal of Study

Students who wish to withdraw from a program at the Sydney Institute of Higher Education are strongly encouraged to speak with the Program Director and/or a relevant student support officer in order to discuss their reason for withdrawal and future plans.
