English Language Courses Overview
- English language courses can help improve your English language skills. These courses are designed for both personal development and preparation for direct entry into vocational colleges and universities.
Our English Language courses are developed in levels starting from elementary up to advanced. New English classes start every week on Mondays and depending on their English level test outcome, their study duration can from 10 to 50 weeks of study.
General English (GE) Courses
Our General English courses prepare students for further vocational studies, travel and work in Australia. These courses focus on reading, writing, listening and speaking.
The course is offered at the following five levels for a total duration of 60 weeks (50 weeks of study and 10 weeks of holidays):
- Each level consists of 10 weeks of study:
- Elementary (IELTS level 4.0 or equivalent)/10 weeks
- Pre Intermediate (IELTS 4.5 or equivalent)/10 weeks
- Intermediate (IELTS 5.0 or equivalent/10 weeks
- Upper Intermediate (IELTS 5.5 or equivalent)/10 weeks
- Advanced (IELTS 6.0 or equivalent)/10 weeks
Students are tested on their first day to ensure that they are in the right class level to maximise their learning potential.
Assessment Methods
- The English Language Course is classroom-based delivery conducted by a highly qualified teacher with an intensive learning resources and computer labs.
- A variety of weekly formative activities (for speaking, listening, reading, and writing); and Unit Summative Assessment Tasks to assess the student’s academic progress and provide feedback.
- All enrolled Students will be provided with a Transcript of their summative assessment results, partial or completed.

- The English Language Course is classroom-based delivery of 20 hours per week – face to face with ELICOS Teacher led training in classrooms, and computer labs.
