Food Safety Supervisor (FSS)
Overview
The Food Safety Supervisor Course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become a Food Safety Supervisor in the NSW hospitality and retail food service sector. The course is approved by the NSW Food Authority and includes two subjects: SITXFSA005 Use Hygiene Practices for Food Safety and SITXFSA006 Participate in Safe Food Handling Practices.
Course Description
The Food Safety Supervisor Course has 2 subjects:
- SITXFSA005 Use Hygiene Practices for Food Safety
- SITXFSA006 Participate in Safe Food Handling Practices
The course also includes the three additional key focus areas determined by the NSW Food Authority:
- Safe egg handling
- Allergen management
- Cleaning and sanitising practices

Course Details
- This course has no prerequisites.
- The course is delivered in a classroom and the assessments can be submitted online.
- You have a duration of 8 weeks and can be completed at any time.
- Upon completion, you will get TWO certificates.
- You will receive:
- A Nationally Accredited Statement of Attainment (SOA) (eCopy)
- The NSW Food Authority Certificate (Hard Copy). This certificate is valid for 5 years.
