The Cognitive Science & AI program at Hartwick College is designed to explore the intricacies of the human mind and the development of artificial intelligence. Students will delve into the complexities of cognition, examining how it crosses multiple disciplines, each with its own approach to understanding how and why we think.

Jeremy Barnett ’10 opened his own practice, Barnett Counseling, in Queens, N.Y. He combined his cognitive science minor with a psychology major and then went on to get his master’s degree in mental health counseling from Yeshiva University.

Curriculum

• Pair courses in biopsychology and philosophy to explore how and why people make the decisions they do.
• Learn to program machines with courses in robotics, game design, and visual programming.
• Develop a thesis project and present your research at Student Showcase – or a national conference!
