Your route to an undergraduate degree in Media
The Bellerbys Global Media Foundation offers exceptional preparation for academic success in the vibrant field of media. You will build your subject knowledge, improve your English language proficiency, and grow your study skills in a supportive learning environment.
What you will study
Our two-semester Foundation Programme combines a range of core modules and academic English classes to ensure you can confidently transition to a media-related undergraduate degree.

Academic English Skills
This module provides thorough training in the language and related academic skills which will enable you to achieve your academic potential at university. You will develop awareness and competency in a range of language-related skills required for successful university study, including academic writing, effective reading strategies, how to participate in seminars and deliver presentations, and listening to and recording information effectively from lectures. You will learn how to communicate accurately in written and spoken English with clarity and confidence.
Film Production
This module offers a comprehensive opportunity to develop filmmaking techniques and explore fundamental film principles. You will gain skills in all aspects of filmmaking, from idea development to final production, including camera techniques, lighting, and digital post-production.
Media Analysis
This module highlights the essential role of advertising and marketing in commercial success, providing a fundamental understanding of media analysis theories and concepts. It enhances your research and analysis skills through examining advertising production and exploring the audience-campaign relationship.
Digital Marketing with Project Skills
This module aims to enhance your understanding of newspapers and magazines through the analysis of news stories or features in print and digital media formats. Meanwhile, the module provides opportunities to apply your knowledge to address complex sustainability challenges (wicked problems) within the fields of media, aligning with the United Nations’ Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) goals. By integrating sustainability, you will learn to consider how the media can address real-world problems.
