Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Advanced Studies – Specialized Sequence

Build a personalized program to meet your professional development needs.

Today’s dynamic education field presents many different potential options for experienced teachers and education professionals to advance their careers. They can move into a specialization or a school counseling role, gain proficiency in assessment and data-based decision-making, or seek to become an administrator. John Carroll University’s Master of Education (M. Ed.) in Advanced Studies – Specialized Sequence empowers experienced educators to create their own professional development path by constructing their own specialized curriculum.

A Totally Flexible Program

Experienced educators entering the program work with an advisor to assemble a personalized 30-hour curriculum of courses that comprise foundational education courses, a specialized sequence of courses, and electives. The specialized sequence of courses may be taken in a teaching field (e.g., English) or in education, leadership, or counseling.

A Great Program Option for Working Professionals

In addition to the flexibility to design their own program curriculum, those enrolled in the program can usually complete any field work requirements on-site at their current place of employment.

An Efficient Master’s Degree Option

The M. Ed. in Advanced Studies – Specialized Sequence program requires just 30 course hours and can be completed in as few as 4 semesters.
