The Master of Data Science (MDS) at New York Tech-Vancouver is a highly hands-on, practice-oriented, and interactive educational experience that prepares students for high-level careers in telecommunications, information technology, healthcare, manufacturing, finance, insurance, and more.

  • 2 years of full-time study
  • 2 delivery options: traditional face-to-face courses at New York Tech's Vancouver campus or online asynchronous courses (Canadian citizens or permanent residents only)
  • 2 paths to completion: course-based or thesis-based

Admissions Requirements

Application Requirements

  • B.S. or its equivalent from an accredited college or university in computer science, IT, management, or a related field
  • Minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.85 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent
  • A minimum of a B grade in several mathematics and computer science courses, such as Calculus I and II, Linear Algebra, and Probability and Statistics
  • Proof of English language proficiency or successful completion of the University Pathway Program from one of our partner schools

  • Transcripts from each semester of your four-year bachelor's degree, as well as any transcripts or certificates received beyond your bachelor's
  • Statement of Purpose (recommended)
  • A copy of your passport

  • Two (2) letters of recommendation from professors who are familiar with your undergraduate work (recommended)
