Overview
The Network Support Administrator program at Cambria College prepares students to install, manage, and maintain computers and network installations. The program provides hands-on network support services, an understanding of communication and support training, and training on popular operating systems including Microsoft Windows 10 and Microsoft Windows Servers.

Admissions Requirements
- High School Graduation or equivalent OR mature student status (19 years or older prior to starting the program)
- Meet one of the following English Language Proficiency requirements:
- Minimum Grade 12 English (Domestic Students)
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic: overall score of 5.5 or higher
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) iBT: overall score of 46 or higher
- Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) Test: overall score of 40 or higher
- Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP): minimum score of Listening 6, Speaking 6, Reading 5 and Writing 5
- Cambridge English Language: B2 First exam (FCE): overall score of 160 or higher
- Pearson Test of English (PTE): overall score of 43 or higher
- Duolingo English Test (DTE): overall score of 95 or higher
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of the program, students will be able to:
- Support clients or organizations and teams by providing desktop and server support
- Administer and implement processes for data backups and recovery systems
- Monitor the performance and access of computer systems and networks
- Identify organization’s needs, map a plan and implement computer networking systems
- Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot diagnostic problems with Linux and Cisco systems
- Knowledge surrounding secure Windows Server on-premise and hybrid infrastructures
- Implement disaster recovery; migrate servers and workloads; and monitor and troubleshoot Windows Server environments
- Deploy and manage networking infrastructure for on-premise and cloud-based environments
- Understand and apply IT system and data security policies
- Configure remote connectivity, apply access controls, and create shell scripts
- Perform basic container operations and analyze storage issues and network resource issues
- Project management and proposals for small to medium size IT endeavors
- Knowledge surrounding organizational needs for hardware, software, networking, operating systems and various software applications including the installation and ongoing maintenance of these items
- Demonstrate basic router configuration modes, a network switch and a static VLAN
- In-depth knowledge of Implementing Ethernet LANs, Implementing VLANs & STPs, IPv4 addressing & routing, OSPF’s IPv6’s·and Wireless LANs

Certification
Courses within the program will fully prepare students to write certification exams for the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) A+, Network+ and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
