Introduction to the LLB Honours Law Programme
The LLB Honours Law Programme is offered at Middlesex University campuses in London, Mauritius, and Dubai. Throughout this programme, students develop the knowledge and skills needed to follow a career in law. A career in law offers determined graduates excellent salary prospects and fast progression.

English Legal System
The module will examine the nature and function of legal institutions and the role of the legal profession within the English legal system. It will explore the provision of legal services and examine alternative dispute resolution. Students will become familiar with and be able to use, legal skills and knowledge, in respect of issues and problems involving the English legal system.
Legal Skills
The module aims to provide a firm foundation for other law modules by developing an understanding of statutory interpretation, legal reasoning, handling precedents and the values that underpin the legal system. It also equips students with the skills necessary to analyse legal texts and arguments, to read and think critically, and to paraphrase and summarise in good academic writing.
Contract Law
The module aims to provide a critical and comprehensive understanding of the legal principles of the Law of Contract, together with evaluation of issues in such a way as to enable students to analyse and solve contractual problems in a practical way.
Public Law
To examine general principles of the UK Constitution and the organisation and powers of the State; to develop student awareness of the law and practice relating to the control and administration of the UK State; to critically consider the protection afforded to civil liberties and the law relating to human rights in the UK; to understand the legal mechanisms of State accountability through judicial review.

Entry Requirements
The entry requirements for the LLB Honours Law Programme are as follows:
- Indian Secondary School Certificates / CBSE: minimum grade of 70% overall
- British A-Levels: Minimum Two or Three with grades AA / BBB
- GCSE: Students who have completed their GCSEs are eligible to join our International Foundation Programme
- International Baccalaureate: You must have passed the full IB Diploma with minimum 28 points overall
- American High School Diploma: minimum GPA of 2.8
- Tawjihiyya (Secondary School Certificate): Students who have completed the Tawjihiyya will be eligible to apply for our International Foundation Programme
- Pakistani National Curriculum: Completion of Year 1 at a recognised post-secondary institution
- Iranian Pre-University Certificate: Minimum overall grade of 12
- Nigerian Senior School Leaving Certificate: Candidates are admitted to the International Foundation Programme
- National Curriculum of the countries of Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan: Candidates are admitted to the International Foundation Programme
- West African GCE: Candidates are admitted to the International Foundation Programme
- BTEC Level 3: BTEC Level 3 qualifications may be considered for direct entry into an undergraduate programme
- Middlesex University International Foundation Programme (IFP): Successful completion of the Middlesex University International Foundation Programme
- NCUK Foundation Qualification: If you have a foundation qualification from NCUK, you can contact the admissions team directly to understand entry requirement eligibility for this programme
English Language Requirements
All programmes at Middlesex University Dubai are taught in English and applicants with previous education outside of English-speaking countries must demonstrate English language proficiency as follows:
- IELTS Academic: 6.0 (minimum 5.5 in each band)
- TOEFL Internet-based: 72 (17 in listening & writing, 20 in speaking and 18 in reading)
- Pearson PTE Academic: 59 (with 59 in all components)
- Dubai Campus MDX Internal English Test: 6.0 (with 5.5 in each component)
Teaching
Classes are held at Dubai Knowledge Park campus Monday to Friday, between 8:30am and 5:30pm. No classes are scheduled on Fridays between 12.00pm and 2.00pm. Occasional sessions may be scheduled over weekends or holiday periods, and you can expect plenty of notice for these. Attending scheduled weekly classes is an important requirement for completion of the programme.
Future Career and Employment
The LLB Programme offered at Middlesex University Dubai is accredited and recognised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and the Bar Standards Board (BSB) of England and Wales. The School of Law teaching team, in cooperation with the University's Careers and Employability Centre, has developed and is gradually expanding a network of partners in the legal profession in Dubai, with the aim to facilitate students in acquiring internship and career opportunities.
