Program Overview
Introduction
The MSc Clinical Health Psychology and Wellbeing is a unique programme in Dubai. Supporting physical and mental health is central in all areas of life and employment. This master's degree integrates the promotion of health and wellness with a focus on mental and physical health and wellbeing. You'll gain knowledge, and professional skills to enhance your career working with clients and patients in health and wellbeing related settings.
Please note that the programme does not train students to become clinical or health psychologists. Rather, it emphasises the importance of health behaviours (both mental and physical) that can enhance wellbeing and provides a grounding in the challenges resulting from trauma and neglect.

Evening Classes to Suit Working Professionals
Taught sessions are held at our Dubai Knowledge Park campus during the week (Monday to Friday) between 6:30pm and 9:30pm. Additional sessions might be scheduled over weekends or holiday periods, and you can expect to receive plenty of notice for these. Full-time students will need to attend one session per week per module (five evenings). The Research report module will include supervised sessions and taught classes. Attending scheduled classes is an important requirement for the completion of this programme.
Academic Taught Modules and Independent Study
Taught modules are devised to ensure active learning both subject matter and of the skills essential to postgraduate level study. In addition to scheduled class time, students are expected to undertake independent study doing research work, preparing for lectures and seminars, and working in groups.
Immersive Teaching and Learning
You will be actively involved in a range of learning, teaching, and assessment approaches as part of your programme. Such active approaches aim to put you at the centre of your learning, so you are involved and engaged in all aspects of your assessment and learning. Your programme will require your active participation in learning activities and engagement with your fellow students both individually and collaboratively, working and learning with other students as part of a small group. Learning activities may also occur both within and outside the classroom.
Education Enhanced by Technology
Your learning will also be supported by technology. Increasingly your tutors will be using existing and emerging learning technologies to engage you in e-learning activities. Your programme may be facilitated using a variety of media and online tools (My Learning on UniHub, podcasts, wikis, etc.), which could allow you flexible access to a diverse range of online resources, quizzes and learning materials, as well as collaborative tools.
Assessments
Assessment comprises a mixture of coursework, peer review, presentations, logbook, case studies, intervention design, project, and reports, depending on the content of the modules being taught. A major part of your assessment will be your 7,000 to 10,000-word research report in the style of a journal article.
