MSc Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Programme

The MSc in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI) will prepare students to become future-ready AI professionals with expertise in advanced machine learning, generative models, data engineering, and data science.   • Data Visualisation, Computer Vision and Imaging (30 credits) - Compulsory

The programme provides a solid foundation in artificial intelligence, generative AI, data engineering, and data science, combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience. Students will explore advanced topics such as large language models (LLMs), deep learning, natural language processing, and big data analytics, with a focus on real-world applications across multiple sectors.

  • An Honours degree normally classified 2.2 or above, or equivalent, in engineering, computer science, or any numerate discipline.

    • TOEFL Internet-based: 79 (Reading min 18, Writing min 21, Listening min 17, Speaking min 20)
    • Pearson PTE Academic: 59 (with 59 in all components)

Teaching

The course is taught through a series of practical workshops as well as self-directed study and project-based learning. Specialist facilities have been developed on campus exclusively for this degree, and students will be taught by experienced staff.
