Introduction to the BSc Honours Psychology with Counselling Skills Programme

The BSc Honours Psychology with Counselling Skills programme is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of psychology and counselling skills. This programme combines a broad education in psychology with a specialist strand that focuses on counselling skills, theory, and practice.

Entry Requirements

The entry requirements for the programme vary depending on the student's previous education. The requirements include:


  • Indian Secondary School Certificates: minimum grade of 70% overall
  • British A-Levels: minimum two or three with grades AA / BBB
  • GCSE: students who have completed their GCSEs are eligible to join the International Foundation Programme
  • International Baccalaureate: minimum 24-28 points
  • American High School Diploma: minimum GPA of 2.8
  • UAE's General Secondary Education Certificate Examination: students who have completed the Tawjihiyya will be eligible to apply for the International Foundation Programme

English Language Requirements

The English language requirements for the programme include:


  • IELTS Academic: 6.0 (minimum 5.5 in each band)
  • TOEFL Internet-based: 72 (17 in listening & writing, 20 in speaking and 18 in reading)
  • Pearson PTE Academic: 59 (with 59 in all components)
  • Dubai Campus MDX Internal English Test: 6.0 (with 5.5 in each component)

Teaching and Learning
