Communication Skills
This module aims to develop students' abilities in industry-relevant communication tasks or assets related to advertising, public relations, and branding. It will equip students with a range of digital and/or analogue practices, analytical approaches, and tools by which to create, curate, direct, and produce content required to deliver impactful communications achieving the required objectives.
Creative Media and Cultures
This module introduces students to the position of brands and media in contemporary society and issues of equality and responsible production and consumption. It fosters critical understanding of images, texts, and objects in various contexts.
Creative Workshops
The aim of this module is to introduce students to various design disciplines, such as design thinking, digital design, and design for print. Through hands-on exploration, students will develop a diverse set of practical and technical skills applicable across different design fields.
Innovative Projects
The aim of the module is to foster innovation through the exploration of design methods and to cultivate conceptual thinking and creative confidence. It enables students to generate creative ideas adept at addressing diverse communication challenges.

English Language Requirements
All programmes at Middlesex University Dubai are taught in English, and applicants with previous education outside of English-speaking countries must demonstrate English language proficiency through:
- IELTS Academic: 6.0 (minimum 5.5 in each band)
- TOEFL Internet-based: 72 (17 in listening & writing, 20 in speaking, and 18 in reading)
- Pearson PTE Academic: 59 (with 59 in all components)
- Dubai Campus MDX Internal English Test: 6.0 (with 5.5 in each component)
Entry Requirements
Entry requirements vary depending on the curriculum:
- Indian Secondary School Certificates: minimum grade of 65% overall
- British A-Levels: minimum two or three with grades AA / BBC
- GCSE: eligible to join the International Foundation Programme
- International Baccalaureate: minimum 24 28 Points
- American High School Diploma: minimum GPA of 2.8
- Tawjihiyya: eligible to apply for the International Foundation Programme
- Pakistani National Curriculum: completion of Year 1 at a recognised post-secondary institution
- Iranian Pre-University Certificate: minimum overall grade of 12
- Nigerian Senior School Leaving Certificate: admitted to the International Foundation Programme
- National Curriculum of Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan: admitted to the International Foundation Programme
- West African GCE: admitted to the International Foundation Programme
- BTEC Level 3: qualifications may be considered for direct entry
- Middlesex University International Foundation Programme: successful completion
Teaching
Classes are held at the Dubai Knowledge Park campus, Monday to Friday, between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm. The programme requires active involvement and collaboration with fellow students, including working and learning as part of small groups. Learning activities may occur both within and outside the classroom.
Future Career and Employment
As a graduate, students can start a career in social media management, digital content creation, client servicing within a marketing or advertising agency, perform internal communications, or work in the communications department of commercial or non-profit organisations. The Advertising, PR, and Branding programme will allow students to graduate into professional APRB-related fields and develop quickly to be managers, directors, or even start their own firm.
