Academic Upgrading
Welcome to Academic Upgrading – we offer FREE grade 12 equivalent C-level courses for students 18+ years of age to help them qualify for admission to post-secondary programs and improve their literacy and numeracy skills. This program is funded by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training, and Skills Development.

- Wishing to upgrade basic or workplace level credits?
- Looking to update your academic skills if you’ve been out of school for a while?
- Needing Ontario high school credits because you were trained internationally?
Academic Upgrading is here to help you!
PROGRAMS OF STUDY INCLUDE:
- ACE Communications (Grade 12 equivalent)
- ACE Apprenticeship Math (Grade 12 equivalent)
- ACE Self Management
- ACE Computer Foundations
- ACE Biology (Grade 11 equivalent)
- ACE Chemistry (Grade 12 equivalent)

- Financial support for daycare and/or transportation is also available for qualified learners through our Training and Support Allowance Funds (limited availability)

- Academic Upgrading Student Advisors are available to help you complete your college applications and answer any college-related questions you may have
- Being on the Durham College campus and utilizing Durham College services you’ll be surrounded by a community of other motivated, friendly students
