Overview
The primary teacher education course is designed for graduates who are committed to becoming primary school teachers. It trains you to teach children in the five to 11 age range.

Entry Requirements
Academic Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with minimum Second Class (2:2) or equivalent in any subject.
- GCSE English, Maths and Science grade A*-C/9-4.
- Satisfactory references.
- Satisfactory personal statement.
International Qualifications
We accept a wide range of European and international qualifications in addition to A-levels, the International Baccalaureate and BTEC qualifications.
Mature Applicants and Those Without Formal Qualifications
As an inclusive university, we recognise those who have been out of education for some time may not have the formal qualifications usually required. We welcome applications from those who can demonstrate their enthusiasm and commitment to study and have the relevant life/work experience that equips them to succeed on the course.
Interview
An interview is required with a member of the academic teaching team.

Applicants for this course are required to complete a Student Suitability Declaration and an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
Health Check
Applicants for this course are required to complete an occupational health check.

- School-Based Learning: Reflections on Practice (Mental Wealth) Core Module
How You'll Learn
- Teaching: Keynote lectures and follow-up seminars
- Placement: Two blocks of full-time school-based training on the course, each twelve weeks long
How You'll Be Assessed
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Your course will lead to the recommendation of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Assignments: You will complete two Level 7 (master's level) assignments.
