Cyber Diplomacy Prof Doc

Overview

This course is designed to meet the current global diplomacy priorities and capacity building. You’ll build expertise and knowledge in advanced areas of cyber diplomacy, cross-cultural theory, and research in applied cyber defence management. Develop leadership skills to guide and mentor others in cyber diplomacy demonstrate an understanding of confidence building measures as well as the sociopolitical complexities and legal challenges stemming from issues of attribution, accountability, and sovereignty.

Entry Requirements

Academic Requirements

  • A 2.1 Honours in Computer Science, Businesses, Politics, Economics (or an equivalent degree) from a recognised UK HE institution.
  • Exceptionally, applicants without first degrees but who have significant, relevant work experience will be considered for entry. All such applicants will be subject to an interview.

International Qualifications

  • We accept a wide range of European and international qualifications in addition to A-levels, the International Baccalaureate and BTEC qualifications.

English Language Requirements

  • Overall IELTS 6.0 with minimum 6.0 in writing and speaking, and 5.5 in listening and reading (or recognised equivalent)

How You'll Learn

  • This programme includes six taught modules and a Research Thesis
  • For those studying full-time, there are two years of research
  • For those studying part-time, there are two years of taught modules and three years of research

How You'll Be Assessed

  • Each taught module is based on one week's intensive attendance at the Docklands campus, according to an advertised calendar, usually at the beginning of each semester
  • During the remainder of the semester, students can work on their reading, practical components (from a workbook) and coursework
  • Students will be supported online or on campus depending on individual students' arrangements
  • On successful completion of all taught modules, students will progress to the research component of the programme (stage two)
  • Students will complete a Research Thesis of approximately 50,000 words showing that they have made an original contribution to the Cyber Diplomacy profession and domain as specified in the UEL PGR Code of Practice and the regulations for postgraduate research programmes
