Cyber Security Engineering MSc
Overview
This multidisciplinary course will provide you with hardware security and knowledge and skills to protect, reverse engineer, and investigate an integrated circuit (IC) and chips. It is aimed at those with an active interest in cyber engineering and to encourage cyber professionals to respond to changes and developments within automation, mechanical systems, robotics, and related wider engineering sectors. You'll also get advanced skills and knowledge of cyber security engineering and hardware security and develop Digital Forensics investigations skills to investigate mechatronics systems.

Academic Requirements
- 2:2 degree in Computer Science & Electronic or mechatronic Engineering.
International Qualifications
- We accept a wide range of European and international qualifications in addition to A-levels, the International Baccalaureate and BTEC qualifications.
English Language Requirements
- Overall IELTS 6.0 overall with minimum 6.0 in writing and speaking, and 5.5 in listening and reading (or recognised equivalent)

How You'll Learn
The course is taught by experts within academia and experts in the field including guest lecturers from industry and law enforcement agencies. It consists of an integrated set of core and specialised units and micro-credentials delivered through practices, simulations and workshops that will focus on the principles and practice of advanced diplomacy and Diplomacy leadership.
Guided Independent Study
When not attending timetabled lectures, you will be expected to continue learning independently through self-study. This will involve reading articles and books, watching videos, undertaking research, working on individual and group projects as well as preparing coursework assignments, in-house practical assignments and presentations.

Dedicated Personal Tutor
Our dedicated and specialist staff will support you throughout the course and you’ll be assigned to a personal tutor when you arrive to oversee you. This is the member of staff, who will provide academic guidance, be a support throughout your time at UEL and who will show you how to make the best use of all the help and resources that we offer.
Workload
You will spend around 300 hours of timetabled learning and teaching activities during the year. These may be lectures, workshops, seminars and individual and group tutorials. Contact hours may vary depending on each module.
Your Timetable
Your individualised timetable is normally available to students within 48 hours of enrolment. Whilst we make every effort to ensure timetables are as student-friendly as possible, scheduled teaching can take place on any day of the week between 9am and 6pm. Timetables for part-time students will depend on the modules selected.
Class Sizes
To give you an indication of class sizes, this course normally attracts 30-50 students a year (this can vary by academic year). Lecture sizes are normally 40 plus students. However, in the classroom, you will do many experiential learning activities in small groups of up to 20 students, so you will have a chance to work closely with your peers, practice everything being learned, and get feedback.
