Primary With Sport And Wellbeing PGCE

Overview

The primary teacher education course is designed for graduates who are committed to becoming primary school teachers. It trains you to teach children in the five to 11 age range, with a focus on PE teaching.

Entry Requirements

  • Academic Requirements
    • 2:2 honours degree (refer third or pass degree to tutor) in any subject for Primary
    • Maths, English and Science at GCSE A*-C/9-4
    • Applicant must have at least one GCSE passed or pending
  • Mature Applicants and Those Without Formal Qualifications
    • As an inclusive university, we recognise those who have been out of education for some time may not have the formal qualifications usually required

How You'll Learn

You will spend most of the first five weeks in our purpose-built education building. Here we will look at pedagogy (how to teach) and curriculum (what to teach).


How You'll Be Assessed

Your course will lead to the recommendation of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). You also have to complete assignments that contribute to your understanding of teaching and learning and carry academic credit, leading to the award of a PGCE.
