Program Overview
Group Programs
An Experienced Provider
Braemar College has welcomed student groups from around the world, including Spain, France, Indonesia, Mexico, Brazil, Vietnam, and China. These groups chose Braemar because they were looking for:
- An enriching short-term Canadian high school experience that takes into account the needs of international students
- A learning experience that is more than the usual camp
- A group program in an exciting cosmopolitan city
- A partner that can customize the whole school experience
The Program You Want
Because not every group is the same, Braemar works closely with you to customize the experience you are looking for.
- High school groups can be mixed into Braemar's classes according to the interest and ability of each student. This is a fantastic way for international students to experience what high school in Canada is like.
- Alternatively, groups could be taught separately, and the curriculum could be customized based on the needs or interest of the group.
Academics
Braemar is happy to customize the curriculum based on the interest of the group. For some groups, Braemar has taught the Ontario high school curriculum on a non-credit basis. For others, Braemar has designed specialized non-credit courses based on the specific interests of the group.
- Each school day consists of five or six (during the summer) hours of classes.
- Students choose two courses, taking into account the level of study achieved and the placement test results.
- All levels of English are available, from all-day ESL courses for absolute beginners to courses for students ready to tackle Shakespeare and Mary Shelley.
- All credit courses are based on the Ontario Secondary School Curriculum.
Activities
Toronto is an exciting city, full of fun things to do and see. Braemar is happy to work with groups to include a wide range of trips and activities.
- All participants of Braemar's group programs are warmly invited to take part in a range of club and after-school activities.

Accommodation
Homestay Option
Braemar works with its own network of Canadian homestay families. Homestay includes:
- A single room
- Three daily meals
- Wifi
- Travel to and from school is with public transportation, and this usually takes between 40 to 50 minutes, which is normal for a big city like Toronto.
Residence Option
Braemar's campus is in the downtown, on the St. George campus of the University of Toronto. There are several excellent residence options within walking distance or a short ride away on public transportation.
- Some residences offer a single room in a suite of 3 or 4 other students who share the living room, kitchen, and washroom.
- Other residences have double occupancy rooms along with shared kitchen and washroom.
- Some of the residences include a meal plan, while in others, the students would be expected to cook their meals in their own kitchens, though even in these cases, there are some catering options.
