Certificate of Competency (COC) Continued Competence Refresher Training

Course Overview

The Certificate of Competency (CoC) Continued Competence Refresher Training is designed for holders of an AMSA issued Certificate of Competency (Master, Deck and Engineer Officers) and meets the mandatory Sea Survival and Fire Fighting continued competency requirements for current Seafarers with qualifying sea service.


This course covers the relevant refresher competencies from the STCW short courses, Certificate of Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats (CPSC) and Advanced Fire Fighting.


Covers relevant components of:


  • Personal Survival Techniques – STCW Table A-VI/1-1.
  • Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting – STCW Table A-VI/1-2.
  • Certificate of Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats – STCW Table A-VI/2-1.
  • Advanced Fire Fighting – STCW Table VI/3.
