Course Overview
This qualification will give individuals the broad foundation skills required in the manufacturing and engineering industry. In addition, this will increase employability for apprenticeships, traineeships or employment in an engineering work environment.
The program’s design aids students in developing critical manufacturing skills through practical and hands-on work in a manufacturing environment. Students will gain skills working with various materials, including plastic, metal and timber; project work is integrated with CAD, 3D modelling and scanning technology.

- This unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required to make an object from metal in accordance with the requirements of an established design.
- MSMPCII299: Make an object from plastic
- This unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required to make a component from plastic in accordance with the requirements of an established design.
- MSS: Sustain process improvements
- This unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required by an individual to prevent process improvements in their own work from slipping back to former practices or digressing to less efficient practices.
