Course Overview
In this skill set, you learn the requirements of road design and how to perform the calculations associated with road alignments, both horizontal and vertical. You also learn aspects of design associated with intersections at grade. In undertaking all design and document presentation associated with this course, you will develop expertise in the use of current Civil Design Computer Application Software.

Entry Requirements
- It is highly recommended that you:
- Have knowledge of CAD software
- Have satisfactory literacy, numeracy and digital literacy skills
- Have knowledge of basic mathematics, including basic algebra, matrix algebra, geometry, trigonometry, functions and their graphs, exponential and logarithmic functions and basic statistics
Resources Required
- It is recommended that you have access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland’s online learning system Connect, and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Reader.
- You may also need to have access to a scientific calculator.
