Course Overview
Take control of your career with this high-level course and develop the highly specialized skills and knowledge required to become an electrical engineering technician. According to the Australian Government's Job Outlook service, electronic engineering draftspersons and technicians are specialized occupations that have high skill levels and earning potential. Employers are looking for qualified candidates who are reliable, work well in a team, and have a strong work ethic.
In this course, you will develop the expert skills needed to design and validate electrical equipment and systems. You will be able to work in areas including electrical design, project management, process control, variable speed drives, programmable logic controllers. Our industry-experienced teachers will give you all the support you need to succeed.
Successful completion of this course will qualify you to work as an electrical engineering draftsperson if you have previous draftsperson experience, or as an electronic engineering technician. You can also continue with further tertiary studies in this area.

Selection Criteria
- Domestic students:
- Recommended sound achievement in Year 12 English and Maths.
- Students must either supply a copy of their Year 12 Certificate issued by the state certifying body in the state you completed year 12 or undertake a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment by the first course census date.
- International students:
- English Language Proficiency: Academic IELTS 6.0 (no individual band less than 5.5) or equivalent.
- Academic Requirements: Completion of Year 12 (or equivalent). Non school-leavers must have relevant work experience or qualification that indicates likely success of course completion.
