Course Overview
This skillset specifies the skills and knowledge required to test, commission and maintain hot and/or heated water temperature control devices, including thermostatic mixing valves in water services.
Upon successful completion of this course you will satisfy the training requirements specified by the Queensland Building Construction Commission (QBCC) when seeking a Thermostatic Mixing Valves endorsement on their Plumbing Licence to service, test and install Thermostatic Mixing Valve devices.

Entry Requirements
- You must hold:
- a current QBCC Plumbers and Drainers Trade Occupational/provisional licence
- evidence of successful completion of the following prerequisite units of competency (Or equivalent):
- CPCPCM2043 Carry out WHS requirements
- CPCPWT3022 Install and commission water heating systems and adjust controls and devices
- It is also recommended that you have sound literacy and numeracy skills.
Resources Required
- You are responsible for meeting the minimum occupational health and safety requirements in practical classes.
- This includes the use of:
- safety glasses
- protective footwear with safety toe cap and non-slip soles to AS2210
- leather gloves to AS2161
- hair protection
- 100% cotton drill industry-standard clothing.
