Overview

The Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy is a four-year program designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge to work as a physiotherapist in various settings. The program is taught at the Universidad Europea de Madrid and includes 240 ECTS credits.

Timetable for Implementation of the Degree

The degree will be implemented over four years, with the first academic year starting in 2024/2025.

Degree Skills

The degree program aims to provide students with the following skills:

• Knowledge of the various pathological processes that may affect human body systems
• Understanding of the practice of physiotherapy as a form of comprehensive care for people
• Ability to identify the various structures of organs and systems of the human body
• Ability to apply the scientific method as the basis for knowledge
• Ability to recognize the legal, ethical, and humanistic framework underlying the profession
• Ability to learn about and understand the morphology, physiology, pathology, and behavior of both healthy and unwell people
• Ability to learn about and understand the science, models, techniques, and tools on which physiotherapy is based
• Ability to learn about the physiological and structural changes that may occur as a consequence of physiotherapy
• Ability to learn about the pathophysiology of disease and identify manifestations that appear throughout the process
• Ability to learn about and understand physiotherapeutic methods, procedures, and interventions
• Ability to understand the importance of updating knowledge, skills, abilities, and attitudes that make up the professional competences of the physiotherapist

Internships

The degree program includes 1,200 hours of clinical practice training from the second year, with special rotations in the neurology and cardiorespiratory department.

Access to a Regulated Profession

The degree program is recognized by the World Confederation for Physiotherapy (WCPT) and is accredited by the Spanish Ministry of Education.

Employability

The employability rate for graduates of the degree program is 91%, with 86% of graduates finding work within six months of graduation.

Admission to the degree program is open to students who meet the legal requirements for access to the University, as set forth in current legislation. There are no additional academic requirements.
