Psychology at EUC
The MSc in Psychology at EUC provides students with the option of two specializations, Clinical Psychology or Counselling. The degree program prepares students for the process of professional licensure in Cyprus and abroad. Our students are trained to develop skills in psychological assessment, diagnostic formulations and psychotherapeutic interventions.
The program emphasizes in-depth qualitative and quantitative skills required for research and practice in the field. Under the supervision of department faculty, students participate in specialized research that furthers their knowledge in their chosen field. Our MSc graduates are eligible for registration with the Cyprus Registration Board for Professional Psychologists.

Specific Admission Criteria
The specific admission criteria for the Clinical/Counselling Psychology M.Sc. are:
- Have an undergraduate degree in Psychology obtained from a recognized University. Undergraduate degrees in a field other than Psychology will not be accepted. Please note that Psychology degrees that are not equivalent to a Psychology degree recognized by the National Council which is responsible for the recognition of higher qualifications in the Republic of Cyprus (KY.S.A.T.S.), may lead to student’s exclusion from internships in state and other mental health centers. Moreover, in case that the student’s undergraduate psychology degree is not equivalent to a recognized psychology degree by the National Council, despite completion of studies in the M.Sc. Program in Clinical/Counselling Psychology, may result in exclusion from the Bachelor Graduates Registry maintained by the Registration Council of Psychologists and this may lead to an inability to register in the Registry of Licenced Psychologists.
- Present an extra-curricular portfolio with evidence of commitment to the field of clinical or counselling psychology (i.e. volunteer work in mental health, previous clinical experience and/or research experience).
- Provide a personal statement of 500 words rationale for attending the program and future professional goals in the area of clinical or counselling psychology.
- Provide evidence of a clean criminal record and a Certificate-on the Prevention and Combating of Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children and Child Pornography.
- Provide names and contact details of two individuals who can provide references for the applicant. If the Department considers it necessary, it will contact them directly. One of them should be an academic, more specifically an instructor who can comment on the academic and research abilities of the applicant and the other should be someone who can comment the applicant’s practical experience in the field of psychology, such as a placement supervisor.
- Attend an interview which is the outmost important requirement in admission to the program. All eligible applicants will be invited to an interview with the Selection Committee. Based on the interview performance, applicants will be placed on a ranked list with successful candidates being given a place in the program. The Committee reserves the right to place candidates on a waiting list.
- The Department can request additional confidential information from the applicant and adopt additional admission requirements/criteria if necessary.
