Education Sciences at EUC
The PhD in Education Sciences is an advanced academic program designed to equip candidates with the knowledge, research skills, and academic mentoring required to become independent scholars in diverse areas of educational research. The program combines selected coursework with intensive, original research, encouraging active participation in the Department’s ongoing research projects. Candidates may choose full-time or part-time engagement and have the opportunity to gain valuable experience by contributing to teaching activities under faculty supervision.

GENERAL INFORMATION FOR DOCTORAL STUDIES
European University Cyprus announces every academic year a limited number of places for doctoral studies in both Fall and Spring Semester (commencing October and February, respectively). Applications are submitted using the application form. All necessary supporting material accompanying the application are described in the application form.
Last day for submitting applications for EU Applicants:
- For Fall Semester:
Initial deadline: 15 June per year(if positions remain available, additional applications for these positions are accepted by 15 September per year) - For Spring Semester: 15 January per year****Last day for submitting applications for Non-EU Applicants (Due to visa requirements):
- For Fall Semester:15 June per year
- For Spring Semester: 1 December per year
The final selection is based on assessment of the applicant’s qualifications and personal interview(s).
Call for Submission of Application for Doctoral Studies
The Ph.D. program in Education Sciences of the Department of Education Sciences announces a limited number of places for doctoral studies every year in one or a combination of the following areas:
- STEM/STEAM/STREAM Education
- Teacher Professional Learning and Development
- Intercultural Education/Education and Social Inclusion of Marginalized Groups
- Assistive Technology and Inclusive Education
- Disability Studies and Pedagogy of Inclusive Education
- Educational Management and Leadership
- Early Childhood Education
- Language, Society and Education
Application, supporting material and admission procedure:
- The program is offered both in Greek and English.
- Interested applicants are expected to submit a research proposal with their application.

- The final selection is based on assessment of the applicant’s qualifications and personal interview(s).
ADMISSION CRITERIA:
- Candidates must be holders of at least a B.A. or M.A. degree in the field of Education Sciences and have a strong academic background and a Grade Point Average (GPA) B or higher, in accordance with the EUC’s grading system.
- As part of their M.A. degree, candidates must have successfully passed one (1) course in Qualitative Research in Education and one (1) course in Quantitative Research in Education.
- The Department reserves the right to request from any applicant accepted to the program to take specified postgraduate courses and/or pass specified appraisals prior to admission.
- Candidates must have excellent knowledge of the English language (such as IELTS Academic****International English exam achievingan overall grade of 6,5 or above or equivalent). This needs to be documented through an international English exam) both in:
- Oral (ability to communicate in the field of Education Sciences in English)
- Writing (ability to write in the field of Education Sciences in English)
