Programme Overview

The aim of the program Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Traditional Chinese Medicine (By Research) at Lincoln University College is to help students develop a profound understanding of TCM so that it becomes second nature in their personal and professional life. The program is designed to supplement students’ existing knowledge by providing advanced abilities in practical, theoretical, diagnostic, and research methodologies. The curriculum will continue to strengthen the link between theory and clinical practice.


For successful completion of PhD candidate should publish minimum Four research articles in Scopus indexed journals, with Lincoln University College affiliation.

Entry Requirements

  • A Master’s Degree [Level 7, Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF)] in the Complementary Medicine field or related fields accepted by the Lincoln University College Senate; or
  • Other qualifications equivalent to a Master’s Degree (Level 7, MQF) recognized by the Government of Malaysia.
  • Candidates without a related qualification in the fields or working experience in the relevant fields must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by Lincoln University College.

For International students, Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score OR 500 of International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 5.0 or its equivalent is needed.
