Specific Subject Computer Science Supplemental Authorization

The Specific Subject Computer Science Supplemental Authorization (S-CS-SA) program supports teachers in attaining the specific subject supplemental authorization in computer science. The Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) has authorized that the specific subject authorization in Computer Science may be appended to a single subject teaching credential, to meet California requirements for teaching K-12 and adult computer science courses. The authorization enables instructors to teach computer science topics at these levels, even if their baccalaureate degree was not in computer science.
